Week 37 – The waiting begins…

Apr 2010

My baby has already moved into the head-down position and I’m officially full term today! My doctor’s appointments have increase to weekly appointments now.

It’s really hard to concentrate on anything else in the world. With every Braxton Hicks contraction, I will wonder “Is this labor?”. I just want to get over with it so I can hold my baby in my arms. Sitting or laying around waiting to go into labor is like watching a pot of water until it boils. These last few weeks seem to drag on and on…

I had my prenatal appointment today. My BP is up a bit for me, 140/70. My urine is just urine, no glucose and other ickies. I can’t really see much on ultrasound too meaning we get a lot of shots of the back of her head and spine. It looks like a lovely spines though!

So now, we are playing the waiting game. Ron is on standby for “my contractions starts”. My mom is on standby for “take us to the hospital”. My sisters are on standby for “we’re off to the hospital now” call. My in-laws are both anxiously waiting for the “your grandchild is on the way” call and we are just waiting for everything to kick off. Hospital bag is packed and sitting by my bedroom door ready for the off. I plan to go through it again sometimes this week to make sure I haven’t forgotten anything.

Now that we’ve hit week 37, she can make her appearance any day. I’m hoping she stays in another couple of weeks for optimum lung development before making an entrance. And this little girl can not get here before Ron arrives from Nanchang. So you got to hang in there a while longer buddy!
