The Mainland Chinese will no longer need to make their way to Hong Kong Disneyland anymore, because a much more bigger Disney is coming to Shanghai! After years of negotiations between China goverment and Walt Disney, it’s finally a done deal. The official announcement is expected to be made after Beijing Olympic in August.
It was said the park will cover 10 square kilometers of land, about eight times the size of Hong Kong Disneyland, and will be built near Pudong’s Chuansha Town, about 20 minutes’ drive from Pudong International Airport.
The park will be open at the earliest possible time in 2012 and might impact the numbers of visitors to HK Disneyland. Time will tell… It would be the third Disneyland in Asia after Japan and Hong Kong .

My name is Bibi Liew and I'm a third-generation oversea Chinese. I'm born on the 3rd of November and that makes me a typical Scorpio. I stayed in several countries and ended up in Shanghai for reasons that are still not entirely clear to myself... I came to China and work as an Expatriate in 2004. I am an Interior Architect and design Hotels and Club Houses in many Cities in China. Ron and I will relocate to Nanchang in March 2010 and I'll be a WAHM!
