Pregnancy Updates: Fetal Movements

I look like I’ve swallowed a basketball

I’m quite fascinated with my belly and I spend hours a day looking at it.

Now, all the girlfriends that I have talked to about being pregnant said that when the baby gets big enough, you will be able to tell where’s the leg, the head, arms and where the butt is. Once, I pressed againts the spot assuming that it was her shoulder and my whole belly moved! My baby actually moving away from my hand like, DON’T DISTURB ME!

The first time I heard from my baby was back in week 16. There was ample room in the belly for acrobatics and lots of kicking and punching. Then, you will learn all different patterns of the movement – turning, twisting, bouncing and wiggling. Those little kicks and flutters affirm that you’ve got a new life growing inside you.

It was fantastic!

She’s moving a LOT these days. How I wish there’s a little window on my belly so that I could see what’s happening inside.

Sometimes, I feels like she’s trying to get comfortable, kind of adjusting her arms and legs. Other times is like I’M WRITING ON THE WALL OF YOUR BELLY WITH MARKERS! And then there are other movements like my whole belly was jumping and jerking. The moment you lay down to sleep at night, she decides: HEY!! It’s time to wake up and do some stretches!

My baby girl likes to exercise and when she gets really tired in there after her workout, she likes to rest her leg against my rib cage.

Sometimes, I can clearly feel a hard spot on my right side, probably her leg as she cuddles up for a nap after throwing a party in there.

The feeling of knowing that my baby girl is growing day by day is amazing. When I talk to her, poke her, she responses and moves. This interaction with her is really one of the most wonderful feeling.

Soon she will come out into this world and we can’t wait to hold her in our arms!
