Nokia E71 Multiscanner application – COOL!
A while back ago, I wrote the Nokia E71 that was very popular. It seems Nokia intends to follow up on this success with a new E-series phone.
Anyway, I was looking for cool themes to use in my E71 when I came across the application Multiscanner. With this application, I have found another useful function for the Nokia E71 camera. The Multiscanner lets you takes photos of business cards and saves the information as a contact in your address book. It will automatically recognize those info and will save each part of the data in the correct spot.
Been using this application for some times and no more flipping through the box of namecards to search for a contact…. this application really compliments the E71’s function as a business phone. Some editing is required as the interpretation of the infomation on the namecards is not perfect. It does seem to work better with typical namecard layouts. The camera flash kinda gets in the way when the name cards have a glossy surface. However, it is still a interesting and cool function.

My name is Bibi Liew and I'm a third-generation oversea Chinese. I'm born on the 3rd of November and that makes me a typical Scorpio. I stayed in several countries and ended up in Shanghai for reasons that are still not entirely clear to myself... I came to China and work as an Expatriate in 2004. I am an Interior Architect and design Hotels and Club Houses in many Cities in China. Ron and I will relocate to Nanchang in March 2010 and I'll be a WAHM!

Hi,
Great review, makes me want the MultiScanner even more. I trade-in my original E71 microSD with an upgrade to a new 4GB high-speed. Got my E71 in mid-March 2009, with version 200.21.118 27-11-2008 RM-346 Nokia E71-1 (26)
Unfortunately, I forgot to copy out the content/apps that came bundled with the original microSD.
I have search high and low (from google to bit-torrent). Only pointing me to a rapidshare site that provides a 135MB RAR file of the original E71 microSD content. The download is so slow, and always disconnect from server (with unable to continue download).
I can’t see to find the link at ANY Nokia site! Europe, Asia, and Malaysia (my home country).
Now I have this sis file, I can’t seem to install it. I am using from my PC Suite 7.1 (latest). I always seem to fail at the MIMIOLibraries-PA. Then went to my mobile dealer, got their brandnew E71 and copied the original microSD (everything including hidden folders) and replacing it into my 4GB card. Only with this I can finally view the MultiScanner.
Unfortunately again, it failed at MiMIOLibraries-Pa.sis.
How can I sold this problem.
